Associate Director, Debt Services
5th Line Capital specializes in serving growth-stage companies in securing industry-best terms for non-dilutive capital and offering tailored financial services. Our expertise is in supporting management & boards with unique business needs in maximizing value return for their investors. The Associate Director position will focus on new client development & relationship management along with identifying prospective business development & partnership opportunities.

Our Venture Debt team helps growth-stage, cash-burning companies secure debt financing while avoiding dilution through equity raise. We first assess where clients fit in the market and then shoulder the workload of credit review and approval processes to deliver fast, favorable capital solutions from our network of trusted venture-oriented partners — even when clients do not fit traditional venture debt profiles.

The role requires someone outgoing, personable, problem-solving, and a quick learner. Our goal for this position is for whoever fills it to truly own the client development pipeline and grow into a leadership role as we continue to grow our team.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Executive Suite Sales: 3-5 years
  • Basic Finance Experience, can understand simple financial statements like P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
  • Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member
  • Goal-oriented & relationship-focused
  • Has demonstrated ability to develop & manage long-term client relationships (beyond just a “transaction”) by articulating value propositions to target client base
  • Must be a quick learner & excellent problem-solver in an exceedingly competitive environment
  • Identifying prospective client bases and particular contacts within that base
  • Identifying clients’ needs and effectively communicating the value proposition of or services
  • Establishing & managing those client relationships
  • Consistently meeting & exceeding quarterly sales goals
  • Proven work experience in an outbound sales role and/or a strong drive to learn sales
  • Familiarity with CRM practices along with the ability to build productive business professional relationships
Director, Debt Services
5th Line Capital specializes in serving growth-stage companies in securing industry-best terms for non-dilutive capital and offering tailored financial services. Our expertise is in supporting management & boards with unique business needs in maximizing value return for their investors. First and foremost, as a business development role, the Director position’s main responsibility will be establishing new relationships while leveraging current ones within our space to generate new business for the firm. The role also requires basic finance knowledge and the ability to evaluate financial materials to qualify opportunities.

We first assess where clients fit in the market and then shoulder the workload of credit review and approval processes to deliver fast, favorable capital solutions from our network of trusted venture-oriented partners — even when clients do not fit traditional venture debt profiles.

The person filling this role has experience in investment banking, venture lending, investing, or similar; with a network from which to pull, experience from which to draw, and the “know-how” when it comes to identifying when an opportunity is viable. This person is outgoing, problem-solving, quick learning, persistent, and can negotiate.
